Marketing Representative

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate be responsible for assisting in the management of Broadbill facilities with current and future business opportunities and co-ordinate the monthly sales and operational cycles for all customers. This new position is the result of our ongoing infrastructure expansion. The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Lease Marketing and Facilities.

Roles and Accountabilities:

  • Trade and schedule to maintain crude oil supply and demand balances.
  • Build a book of physical crude and related natural gas liquid volumes to enhance organizational profitability and top line revenue growth.
  • Develop and maintain facility optimization models and predictive analytics.
  • Analyze and predict crude oil netbacks for prospective and current customers.
  • Model current and future producer netbacks as well as infrastructure business opportunities.
  • Undertake lead generation opportunities, forward facing customer origination and maintenance activities.
  • Gather pricing and market data to support current and future commercial origination activities and customers.
  • Collaborate daily with logistics, operations, and optimization teams throughout the organization.
  • Recognize and research events or changes in domestic and global crude oil supplies and logistics and evaluate how they can impact crude oil supply and optimization strategy.
  • Maintain profit and loss center across the Broadbill Energy core business line.
  • Present data to all levels of Broadbill Energy leadership.
  • Drive improvement in models and modeling techniques to enhance optimization efforts and customer netback opportunities.
  • Assist in the monthly settlement of marketing related purchases and sales for business reconciliation.
  • Meet all industry deadlines.

Minimum Competency Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, business, finance, economics, accounting, math, or related areas.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Crude Oil and/or Natural Gas Liquid marketing experience.
  • Ability to analyze North American oil and gas markets, refining, pricing hubs and transportation systems.
  • Ability to calculate wellhead netbacks, identify facility pricing alternatives, and utilize interpersonal skills to grow a strong customer book of business.
  • Commercial orientation with very strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment where continuous improvement is the driving directive.
  • Excellent proficiency with Excel or other modelling software.
  • Computer programming knowledge would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in physical commodity movements would be an asset.
  • Experience in business development would be considered an asset.

Marketing Accountant

What We Are Looking For

Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the successful candidate will have several roles and accountabilities:

  • Preparation of month end settlement invoices.
  • Preparation and reconciliation of Broadbill facilities and marketing activities.
  • Reconciliation of monthly trucking invoicing and associated costs impacting the organization.
  • Work directly with the marketing business unit, while also collaborating with finance, and operational departments to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Preparation of monthly account reconciliations across the marketing business unit.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for internal and external requirements.
  • Ad hoc analytical assignments and reporting as required.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to streamline the marketing accounting process.
  • Complete assigned duties accurately and on-time.
  • Present data to all levels of Broadbill Energy leadership.
  • The position may also carry out special projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of a university degree with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years’ related work experience; systems/project implementation experience considered an asset.
  • CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation considered and asset.
  • Adaptable to change and motivated by new opportunities.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite skills – must have advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Egistix is an asset.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • In possession of a sense of urgency and accountability with the ability to respond to tight deadline requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative by undertaking tasks independently.
