Data Analyst

What We Are Looking For
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst with strong programming capabilities and a deep understanding of database design and architecture. This role is a unique blend of data analysis and software engineering, perfect for a professional who is passionate about working with data and enjoys solving complex problems through coding and software development. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming languages (Python, R, SQL), database management, and a strong analytical mindset to drive actionable insights from large datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

Programming and Software Development:

  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to automate data processing tasks and build data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data is accurately extracted, transformed, and loaded into databases.
  • Implement software solutions that integrate with existing systems to enhance data accessibility and usability.

Database Design and Architecture:

  • Design, develop, and maintain relational and non-relational databases to support data storage and retrieval needs.
  • Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement scalable database solutions.

Data Quality and Governance:

  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all datasets.
  • Implement and monitor data quality checks and validation processes.
  • Document data processes, architecture, and systems to maintain transparency and reproducibility.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to support business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key findings to stakeholders.
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis to answer specific business questions.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and third party providers to understand data needs and translate them into technical solutions.

Qualifications and Qualifications:
Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, software engineering, or a related role.
  • Proven experience with programming languages (Python, R), including libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and SQLAlchemy, Streamlit.
  • Strong understanding of database design, architecture, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Dynamodb).
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and managing databases.

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in data modeling, database schema design, and normalization.
  • Experience with ETL tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Databricks, Redshift).
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git) and testing.
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, data integration, and data visualization to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and usability
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud-based databases and data storage solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with BI Tools: Familiarity with business intelligence tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Experience with and interest in ML: A Background in mathematics, physics, or statistics, or related training.
